Bread, salt, and the kitchen window
KITCHENSlow rises
Some afternoons in the motorhome the kitchen window catches the late sun and the whole cabin smells of yeast and patience.
This is not a recipe. This is a way. The bread rises slowly because we are slow. The salt is coarse because the road is coarse. The window stays open because the wind, today, is kind.
- 500 g flour
- 8 g sea salt
- 7 g yeast
- 350 ml warm water
- One Psalm, read aloud, while it rises
“O taste and see that the Lord is good.”
— Psalm 34:8
