A life lived without borders

The road has been a teacher

The motorhome rolled into Caldas da Rainha just before the rain came. Three years and twenty-three borders later, this is the only word that fits: gratitude.

We set out in 2024 thinking we would see Europe. Europe, it turns out, has been seeing us — every kilometre asking the same quiet question: what do you keep when you can keep almost nothing?

The answer, every morning, is the same. We keep the verse. We keep each other. We keep moving.

From Lisbon to Oslo, from Venice to Oxford, the road has been a long, slow teacher. The grammar is simple. The vocabulary is patience.
